Who
Ernie and Addie are father and daughter. The old man is retired from the real estate and insurance fields. The kid is taking the summer off from a graduate program to recharge for the home stretch.
In the nine years since his motorcycle trip to Alaska, from South Carolina, Ernie had wanted to visit Alaska again. Chatting over a pizza and beer, Ernie was reminiscing about his previous trip and lamenting that Joyce, his wife, Addie’s mom, had no interest. When Addie commented about how much she would enjoy such a trip, the pieces fell into place and a road trip to Alaska from Charleston, South Carolina in the summer of 2014 became a reality.
